Frank is about thirty years old and works in a corporation. He has a wife, a house, money and a position with prospects. However, somewhere deep inside, he feels that his life is not so happy. But he lacks the courage, strength and time to change anything. When an opportunity for promotion appears, his best friend suggests going out and celebrating the approaching success. Finally, Frank decides to go. However, having a party during the week is never a good idea. The men meet two attractive girls and then move on to the next party. Frank takes an unknown drug because he wants to impress his new friend. He quickly regrets not asking for some guidance. From that moment, he gets into serious trouble – the drug takes him outside the laws of physics. Frank loses contact with reality and experiences colourful hallucinations. The world around him starts to fall apart, the drug is so good that the man begins to travel through time.
“The Wave” is an interesting production and not only because of the visual effects and the concept of tripping. Under the cloud of narcotic fumes is a warm story about changing your own life, doing good things and influencing your own destiny. In addition, the screen duo of Long and Fasion add light comedy to the story. But be warned, Splat!FilmFest isn’t telling you that drugs are the best way to solve problems.
