MARTA PŁAZA
19.09 (Tuesday) / at 5:00 p.m. / Sala Kinowa / ADMISSION FREE
From vampires to murderers to… clowns. Some of the monsters in the horror universe can be surprising. What is the name for fear of clowns? Which murderer would dress as one? Where’s the subtle line between scary and funny? From Pennywise to Captain Spaulding to “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” – we will take a look at the way horror films and pop culture changed our view of these nice (?) guys in loose trousers and slightly too big shoes.
Marta Płaza – graduate of journalism and film studies. She works with people on a daily basis and after hours, in the darkness of the interwebs, she loudly contemplates their sinister side. An enthusiast of campiness and kitsch, especially in films. Płaza lives for horrors since at the age of twelve she watched “Omen” from under her covers, and thanks to the series “X Files” she appreciated how horrifying a soundtrack can be.
Lecture in Polish.
