Mike Myers is a self-aware background character who dreams of saving the main characters in a horror film, Chad works in a video store and has a screw loose, while Daisy is looking for an effective way to kill the immortal murderer. What do they all have in common? A twisted storyline, spilling out tropes, litres of blood, cinematic patterns and participation in dimwitted horror stories…and inoperative cells.
“Scare package” is a compilation of stories mocking horror movies, ridiculing genre patterns and grotesquely highlighting all stereotypes. In seven stories, the creators offer us a lot of references, blinks of the eye, disgusting effects, heavily exaggerated jokes, and they even break the fourth wall. This is a joyful, insolent, obscene, full of smiles and loving bow to the genre. The audience will find here a pinch of “Halloween”, a bit of “The Cabin in the Woods”, a note of “Friday the 13th”, a handful of disgustingly beautiful effects straight from B cinema and a big booger in the style of Troma.
The segments which connect in a perverse and comical way form a brilliant whole that will disarm you from beginning to end. No true fan of the genre should miss this coarse, kitschy and wonderful blend.
