Comedic-horror B-grade made in 1986, directed by Richard W. Haines and Lloyd Kaufman (under the alias of Samuel Weil). One of the flagship productions of Troma Entertainment.
Tromaville High School is located near a nuclear plant, from which a dangerous substance is leaking straight onto the growing hemps. Group of hooligans starts to sell the radioactive marihuana in agreement with one of the plant workers. Pair of popular school-kids, Warren and Chrissy try a joint during a party, not knowing it has a bigger kick than the typical weed. That’s where the true horror begins or rather a comedy or… both. After a crazy night, young people start to notice strange symptoms – nausea, weakness and hallucinations. Suddenly, Warren starts to mutate into a vengeful monster and Chrissy brings to the world a wiggly creature that escapes to the schools basement. This varmint will become a real threat for the peaceful community. They are no longer typical high-school students… It is no longer a typical high-school.

„Class of Nuke ‘Em High” is an example of a dope caricature of the teen movie drama genre mixed with the elements of body horror and action cinema. Cold-war paranoia is so strongly visible in the exaggerated characters and malicious satire that numerous sequels were made, and the Troma high school student series seems to be far from over (last part of this series was made in 2017).
