It’s easy to kill. It’s difficult to make it out alive.
Midnight on New Year’s Eve. Full of hope, we are looking ahead and waiting for a change. However, this is not the case for Lindsey and Jeff Pittnam. Their marriage is experiencing troubles and it is now being put to the final test as the couple is trying to cover up the evidence of a terrible accident. Small cracks in their relationship are exploding. Trying to make it out alive, Lindsay and Jeff are forced to start from scratch. The question is whether it is possible at all. From now on, they are caught in a Hitchcockian web of suspicions, reproaches and insanity.
Julius Ramsay is a three-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee who has directed TV series such as “The Walking Dead” and “Scream”. “The Midnighters” is not only his debut feature film but also a deeply personal picture which has been co-created with his brother. The plot of the film is inspired by their childhood. Back then, he and his brother were observing marital issues of their parents who eventually got divorced. This event has left a mark on boys’ imagination. Along with horror films that they were avidly watching, the divorce has been a reason underlying the making of the co-created film. “The Midnighters” is a thriller as dark as the winter sky of New England where the action is set.
