After the zombie outbreak, thanks to modern treatment those infected become human again. The only souvenirs from previous “life” are their bodies, at least what’s left of them. Being quarantined they colonize some kind of isolated ghetto. It’s been five years, and human organizations lobby favoring for including zombies into the community is getting stronger. The biased reporter is going to the ghetto to make propaganda reportage presenting them in a bad light as unable to assimilate.
„Less than human” is a universal cinema. In the visual event horror, beneath the surface, the spectrum of emotions is far greater than fear itself. We have a sense of being excluded, frustration, there is pique too, but also deep relationship and intimacy. Whereas fear, which we are dealing with is a different kind than fear commonly found in horror films. In the end, it’s a movie not only with social knack, but also film that draws reliable psychological portraits of… right, human?
