Sex, drugs, rock’n’roll and gender.
Wallowing in sewage definitely isn’t an ideal vision of life, but Chip is basically a scumbag. His only achievement is the fact that he has a great girlfriend – Liza. Her only contribution into their relationship is the money from her sugar daddy but… each relationship has its charms. When she comes up with the idea of stealing from her “benefactor” she reveals her dark side to Chip, which he didn’t notice or didn’t want to see before. Now, Chip has a gun, $68 000, a girl in his trunk and less than 24 hours to clean this whole mess. But he will have to make a lot of effort to survive in the world of deadly, self-confident women who know exactly what they want and how to get it. The boy has to deal not only with Liza (AnnaLynne McCord) but also with equally cruel Monica (Sheila Vand, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night) Those devilish, goal oriented women are not going to play a role of passive nymphs in need of male support or rescue.
“68 Kill” is a real firecracker. The maker of this movie is Trent Haaga, writing partner of a script to “Cheap Thrills”. He can give a high five to Quentin Tarantino for presenting the violence in such a rock’n’roll style. In this cocktail we have some head spinning ingredients: from unrefined, sharp sense of humor to upbeat tempo, unexpected plot changes, and comic book aesthetics. It’s nice to see that the director turned all the cliché roles of men and women, that we know from many other movies full of violence. For a long time there have not been any movie in a cinema which gave such a hard time to stereotypes. POLISH PREMIERE.
